Blessed Michael McGivney was a 19th-century Connecticut priest and founder of the Knights of Columbus who is THIS CLOSE to being declared a saint in the Catholic Church. You can learn more here.
I'm convinced that he intercedes for us in Heaven. Blessed Michael McGivney was known during his life for being a very quick and efficient worker; I have found the same to be true now.
Blessed Michael McGivney loves to help. You can look up one of the more elaborate prayers on the Internet or just sit quietly for a moment, then say, "Blessed Michael McGivney, please obtain for me from the benign Heart of Jesus the following: [mention your favor here]." Be sure to thank him should your prayer be granted.
In 1991, my husband and I met in a Yale dorm right near St. Mary's Church, which was Blessed Michael McGivney's parish. At the time, I certainly had no idea who this great saint was, nor did I have any notion that I would later become Catholic or write hymns for the Church. I've named this hymn tune after Yale's motto: LUX ET VERITAS.
